The Smashing Pumpkins bass has never been held by a male since now and it seems that it will never be. The new bass player is, again, a lady and her name is Nicole Fiorentino. 

Fiorentino follows, on the SM bass, the original member D'arcy and her successor, Melissa Auf der Maur.

I don't know how well the new bassist will fit the band. What I can tell for sure is that Nicole 100% has the looks. Either way, the latest years, the phenomenal America's band's problem wasn't neither the looks nor the bassist. It is the lack of inspiration and the missing Billy Corgan's angel-devil's voice and feeling that we used to adore during the good old days of the band (especially during the early 90s).

Anyway, I still am a huge fan of the band and I wish that this small change will push the band forward. Good luck Nicole!
